FENDER Stratocaster
1974
Lightweight alder body, maple neck. sunburst
finish.
Plays
well and has excellent vintage tone from the staggered pole 1974
pickups. Note this guitar does have a couple of changes.
Definitely a great one for the strat player.
I have included several detailed photos of this guitar showing
all the important info you will need. Please write and ask any
further questions.
Neck and tuners are in excellent condition, original lacquer.
The frets are getting low. They have been dressed and recrowned
, still plays fine and doesn't require any immediate
re-fretting. The neck is straight and the truss rod adjustment
works well.
The body has
original lacquer in very good order , colours haven't faded.
There is minimal lacquer checking, has less than expected chips
and marks for it's age. The body has been routed to fit the
Schecter tremelo system. This tremelo system has fine tuner
adjustment. The middle pickup area on the body has been routed
for reverse pickup installation of the standard strat pickup. It
is a pity that had been done but that is rock and roll.
I've done a setup on this guitar and intonation is right and the
trem is balanced and stays in tune.
The neck and middle pickups are the original 1974 staggered pole
Stratocaster pickups. Original '74 cream pickup covers, switch
tip and 2 of the control knobs. The bridge pickup is either a
vintage reissue or a Seymour Duncan, I can't be certain, vintage
waxed cloth wires on that pickup and the output socket. 5 way
pickup selector. one tone pot is 1984 the second tone pot is
1992. I can't see the code on the volume pot from solder. The
guard is a Fender white 3 ply from the early 80's . All holes line up, no extra
holes.
The guitar weighs nearly 8 lb , or 3.6 kg.
